I'm a mother. I'm not always a great mother. Failure is a common thread in my daily routines. There are moments in my life where I think my kids want to pack up and move out - at ages 6 and 8. Heck, there are moments I want to pack up and move out. I like to think we're a typical family, but recent behavioral happenings with my son have had me worrying. Worrying about what answers we will get. Worrying if I will be able to help. Worrying about how this will all work out and whether or not we can overcome this issue as a family. You know what? We're not called to worry. In fact, we are told that worry is a sin. We are supposed to pray and have faith that our God can and will handle this on our behalf.
We need answers. Answers that I haven't been able to provide. Once I admitted to myself that I don't have the answers, it was time to turn to people who are more qualified to deal with the issue at hand. In the upcoming weeks we will embark on a new, and hopefully enlightening journey with my son. It's the hardest call I've had to make, but it was the right thing to do. I have been given two precious children and I owe it to them to fix what seems to be broken.
So many times I feel unequipped and there are times I wonder if I get any of this right. I don't know that answer, but I am certain of three things:
1) ALL mothers go through times when they feel less than the best.
2) I don't have to have all the answers to qualify as a mom.
3) I am weak but He is strong. Thankfully.
